The Rising Star

The "Rising Star" is one of the newest ships currently to be found in the Colonial Rag-Tag fleet. This ship is, for all intent and purpose, a luxury liner chartered to fly romantic tours of the 12 colonies. Primarily for short/medium range flight this class vessel is rather frail and thus has less advanced scanner equipment than other commercial transports.

Aerodynamic design of the Rising Star and other vessels of this class allows it to make water landings, where it can drop off or take on new passenger. This is also the reason why the Rising Star's scramjet intakes are featured on the top of the ship and why it has a "lifting body" design. Presently several Council members have offices on this ship and both civilian and military personnel enjoy games of Triad and gambling between battles with the Cylons and also doubles as a food storage ship.
